Contributors to EnviroAnalysis 2010
Instructions for
Preparing Abstracts
All verbal and poster presenters
are asked to submit a 250 word abstract (no more than
one page), which describes the main focus of their work.
New
extended Deadline: Friday April 23, 2010.
1. Abstracts must be submitted in
Microsoft Word format.
2. Abstracts may be submitted in
English or French. (Note: oral sessions are in
English only). Use 8½" x 11" page layout, with a 1"
margin on all sides. Typing is single-spaced, and
12-point type (Times Roman or equivalent font).
3. Start at the top of the typing
area. Use 14-point type for the title. Leave one blank
line between the title and the names of the authors.
Give the names, affiliations, and full mailing addresses
of all authors. Important: Underline the name of
the presenting author. Leave two blank lines
before starting the text.
4. Please turn off page numbering.
5. PowerPoint presentations from
EnviroAnalysis will be converted to pdf files and posted
on the EnviroAnalysis web site by the end of July 2010
for public viewing. Delegates who do not wish their
presentations to be posted should indicate this at
registration.
The EnviroAnalysis 2010
organizers reserve the right to accept or reject any
abstract submitted for presentation at the meeting. We
also reserve the right to designate any paper for
presentation in either verbal or poster format.
Oral Presentations
Oral presentations will be 20
minutes (including questions). Special overview or
keynote presentations may be 40 minutes. Plenary talks
are 45 minutes in length.
Data projectors will
be available. If using PowerPoint, delegates must bring
their presentations on a CD-ROM or a USB compatible
memory stick. 35 mm slide projectors will not be
provided!
Poster Presentations
1. Posters may be in English or
French.
2. Poster must be prepared in
landscape orientation, and no larger than 2m wide
x 1m high (landscape orientation). Poster elements must
be mounted by pins. Delegates should bring their own
pins.
3. Poster elements should be
readable from a distance of one meter. All posters
should state the objectives of the study and the
approach and methods used, but the main emphasis should
be on the results and conclusions. One poster element
should be an abstract, which is a brief summary of the
most important findings of the work.
4. Authors will be asked to stand
by their poster during the designated poster sessions.
5. Students who wish their posters
to be considered for the
Karasek Award should indicate this when submitting
their abstract (see below).
Abstract Submission Process
1. Prepare the abstract as per the
instructions above.
2. Send the abstract as an attachment in an email to
ray.clement@ontario.ca
on or before Friday
April 23, 2010.
3. Indicate in the email if you are
a student presenting a poster and wish to be considered
for a
Karasek Award.
